Having Patience

The Sunflower Project
It seems as though I am always waiting for things to come to fruition. To hear back from that application, or for that idea to catch on. I decided to document the growth of this seed through its lifespan. I am interested in what happens to the Sunflower Project during the course of the life of a single planted seed. Right now, I am waiting to see a sign that the seed is even viable. Each of the daily photos has been just black soil. I have no idea if my effort is futile. I must be patient, and wait the requisite…

The Sunflower Project: Why just the seed?

The Sunflower Project, What's the Big Idea?
[caption id="attachment_128" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Sunflower Seed #35" x 7"A/Cby Debbie.lee Miszaniec[/caption] "Hey, what about adding paintings of sunflowers to your paintings of sunflower seeds? the sunflower is such a happy looking plant." This question arrived at my inbox last weekend. It is a very good question, so I thought I would address it here. The sunflower IS a happy looking plant! A Gift For YOU: The Sunflower Project

The Sunflower Project, What's the Big Idea?
[caption id="attachment_123" align="aligncenter" width="239"] Jessica in her GardenO/C 48 x 60Original painting by Debbie.lee Miszaniec[/caption] I Have A Gift For You: Do you love art?  Do you believe that each of us has not one, but a thousand gifts to give the world?  Do you love art and believe that art is one of those gifts?  Then I have a gift for you. I want to give you a painting. I want to give you a painting of a sunflower seed. The sunflower is a dramatic plant: Tall, strong, visually striking, it is a wonder of life to behold as it grows and tracks the sun through the season. I recall my sadness, the first time growing them, at the first frost. I wished I could turn the clock back…
